Uluwatu Temple is one of the famous Balinese Hindu temples located in Southern Bali. The temple is dedicated to Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa in his manifestation as Rudra. The temple is perched on a steep cliff about 70 metres above the Indian Ocean and offers stunning views of the ocean and sunset. The temple is also home to a large population of monkeys that are known to be quite mischievous so visitors are advised to be careful with their belongings.
Kecak dance is a traditional hindu dance in Bali that always performs in the afternoon beside Uluwatu Temple. This dance performances primarily by man and one of lady. The dance tells the story of the Ramayana, an ancient Hindu epic poem and is characterized by its use of vocalized sounds, such as “cak” and “kecak,” which are used to create a rhythmic background for the dancers.
